We, the Naval Research Laboratory, are looking for an entry level scientist and engineer with a BS/MS degree in Materials Science and Engineering or Chemistry to work with us. We are currently working on the development of transparent ceramic materials, various oxide and non-oxide glasses, and polymeric materials for various military and commercial applications. We have an immediate opening for a position to carry out synthesis, purification, characterization, and process of various metal oxide powders, glasses and ceramics. He/she will be trained various synthesis, processing, and state-of-the-art material characterization techniques through on-hands experiments under supervisor’s guidance. Although the official work is carried out in US Naval Research laboratories in DC, he/she will be initially hired as a contractor through our contracting company. This position is open for immediate hire.
