A Materials Science Research Experience for Undergraduates @ Clemson University

We are looking for eleven undergraduate students interested in performing engineering and scientific research at Clemson University during the summer of 2016.  During the ten-week program, students will have a chance to conduct their own research project under the guidance of a faculty advisor and a graduate student mentor. This program was designed to help participants have a positive research and social experience, and to encourage them to pursue graduate studies and research careers.  All student participants will have the opportunity to meet with industrial entrepreneurs and academic researchers, attend professional development workshops, and attend various social activities.

Eligibility
  • Students at all levels of their undergraduate work and from a variety of majors are sought for this program.
  • Must be a US citizen or permanent US resident. 
  • Priority will be given to students who have at least a 3.5 GPA and who have not had a research experience within an REU program.
  • All participants must be currently registered at a two- or four-year college, and may not have received their Bachelor's degree prior to January 2017.
  • Women and members of demographic groups traditionally under-represented in engineering are particularly encouraged to apply.
