The National Risk Management Research Laboratory at the EPA facility in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, is leading new research to develop portable air quality instruments, and is searching for an Air Quality Education Associate to join the team! The NMRML research team is seeking an individual to assist with developing materials supporting students, teachers, and citizen scientists to use portable air quality instrumentation, with specific emphasis on websites and data visualization tools. The successful applicant will be particularly involved in testing the portability of air quality instruments and the plug and play data visualization tools and communicating the research through curriculum, technical guidance, and other outreach activities.
The job is geared towards recent bachelor’s graduates in education, science education, science, engineering, or a related field. Successful applicants will demonstrate education and/or experience in K-12 education, including curriculum development and national science education standards. Applicants should also be possess strong leadership skills and written, oral and electronic communication skills.
The position is part-time, up to 20 hours per week, and has a pay rate of $20.34 per hour. The applicant will be expected to begin in October 2015.
