Job Description
Co-op Requirements: Our co-op program requires an individual be a full-time college student, have a formal arrangement with their academic institution, and be able to alternate full-time work and school semesters. The student may alternate between work and study for two or more terms. Description: Student assists senior projects; conducts metallurgical and mechanical testing to determine properties of materials; uses a variety of equipment for electrical, vibration and dimensional checks; performs stress tests and analysis; polishes samples for microscopic evaluation; and performs computerized data analysis. There is also an opportunity for field work. Skills: Should be willing to study reference material to resolve problems, make suggestions for improvements and design projects.

Prefer: Students seeking degrees in Metallurgy or Materials Science with an emphasis on metals, and at least a 2.7 GPA overall and a 3.0 GPA in major. Salary for this full-time position depends on class level at the time of employment.
Work Period: Spring, Summer, Fall 
Work Location: VA-Roanoke 
Hours: Monday - Friday - 8 AM - 5 PM (May vary) 
Compensation: All co-ops will be paid according to the following salary rates:
Freshman $2375/mo
Sophomore $2667/mo
Junior $2875/mo
Senior $3125/mo
Graduate $3500/mo

*Temporary living allowance is available to those who qualify.
Relocation assistance is available to those who qualify.
