TMS Intern Opportunity

Dr. Reynolds received the following & asked that I share it.

Hi Bill,

I hope all is well with you!

I wanted to bring to your attention to a summer internship opening in my department at TMS. The role is very well suited for an undergraduate student interested in learning more (in an office environment) about the materials science and engineering (MS&E) community and the engagement of that community in various strategic areas of MS&E. As described in the attached position description, the intern will have the opportunity to work on some exciting initiatives in areas such as additive manufacturing, energy, lightweighting, and materials data. It’s also a great opportunity to do some networking with TMS technical staff and TMS members (professionals) in a variety of areas in the field; thus providing insights and connections which could prove valuable for their ultimate career path choice.

I was hoping you could especially communicate this directly to any exceptional students in your department who might be interested. I’ve found some of the best candidates come from personal outreach, and I’d really appreciate any connections you might help us make. Although having you directly discuss this with such students might be especially effective, I’ve also included a message below that you may wish to use for emailing the details. We have to move quickly on this because summer is rapidly approaching – please note below the April 10th submission deadline.

Please don’t hesitate to let me know if you have any questions.

Many thanks,

George
