Reports To: Materials Technology Manager
Position Description: The Research and Development Intern will assist in testing and development of innovative high fiber density fiber optical fiber ribbon structures and cables as well as assisting in other day-to-day materials testing and support activities for the Lexington and Claremont optical fiber cable plants.
Restriction: U.S. Citizen and/or Authorization to Work in the US.

Education:
- Required: Actively Enrolled in an accredited university in a degree program in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemistry, or Physics.
- Preferred: Additional formal training in quality systems and statistics.
- Required: Must complete lab certification training, as required, in a timely manner.
- Detail oriented individual with good problem solving and organizational skills. Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Preferred: Hands on competence in the operation of mechanical testing equipment, thermal analysis, and other analytical equipment such as FTIR .
- Detail oriented.
- Reasoning ability: good reasoning ability is required to assess complex problems and recommend viable solutions.
- Computer skills: MS Office

Reports To: Engineering Manager
Position Description: Engineering Intern will assist in managing engineering projects and providing engineering support within the Claremont, NC optical fiber cable plant.
Restriction: U.S. Citizen and/or Authorization to Work in the US.
Restriction: U.S. Citizen and/or Authorization to Work in the US.
Education:
- Required: Actively enrolled in an accredited university in a degree program in Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Chemistry, or Physics.
- Preferred: Additional formal training in quality systems and statistics.
- Required: Detail oriented individual with good problem solving and organizational skills. Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Preferred: Experience with electronic data management systems.
- Detail oriented.
- Reasoning ability: good reasoning ability is required to assess complex problems and recommend viable solutions.
- Computer skills: MS Office.
