Be a Rep in SGA on the Legislative Branch

I am the Vice Chair of the General Assembly in the Student Government Association and we have an open application for vacant Representative positions in the Legislative Branch. Can you please forward the below message on to your undergraduate students? Thanks, Warren

Hello Hokies! 

We're looking for passionate students like you to help us transform Virginia Tech. The General Assembly are looking for students interested in representing the College of Engineering and College of Natural Resources and Environment. Positions are open to all undergraduate students, and are awarded based on merit.

The Purpose of the General Assembly:
·  Direct representation of specific demographics (colleges, environmental, minorities, Greek etc.)
·  Approve annual budget
·  Write and pass legislation that will support positive change on the VT campus and Blacksburg community based upon student desire
·  Hear funding requests for additional, internal SGA budget spending
·  Report SGA activity to respective bodies or organizations as a liaison between the two
·  Promote the name and positive perception of the SGA as a whole across the university
The minimal duties include:
·  Being an undergraduate student attending classes in Blacksburg for the full year.
·  Attending General Assembly meetings every Tuesday at 7 PM.
·  Actively participating in the SGA.
·  Setting aside time for student outreach.
·  Meeting with College Dean once a semester.
