Leadership Role in The American Ceramic Society

Professor Kathy Lu,

I am contacting you on behalf of the President’s Council of Students Advisors (PCSA), the student leadership committee within The American Ceramic Society (ACerS). I would like to let you know that the application deadline for a position as a 2016-2017 PCSA delegate has been extended to April 30, 2016

ACerS is seeking to recruit motivated undergraduate and graduate students with an interest in ceramic and glass materials to become involved as delegates of the PCSA. Information about the PCSA can be found on our website, as well as in the attached invitation letter.

The PCSA is the primary interface between student members and ACerS leadership, and participation in the PCSA allows delegates to become involved in ACerS functions, planning, and outreach. We would like to have Virginia Tech represented in the 2016-17 PCSA class, through which potential delegates will serve as representatives of Virginia Tech in ACerS.
Selected delegates will be required to attend the annual PCSA meeting, held the weekend prior to MS&T16 in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA (October 22-23, 2016). The annual meeting gives students an opportunity to network with an international community of industry professionals and fellow students, and also to become more involved in the ACerS community.

Please forward the attached invitation to motivated undergraduate and graduate students with an interest in ceramic and glass materials. Also attached is a promotional flyer that I encourage you to circulate in your department. Interested students should apply online, and the extended application deadline for a delegate position is April 30, 2016. Please contact me at pcsarecruitmentchair@ceramics.org if you have any questions. Thank you.

Best regards,
James Steffes
