Virginia Tech AREMA, American
Railway Engineering and Maintenance of Way Association, is hosting "Why
Railroad?" an event where our guest speaker, Tarek Shalaby, will speak
with students about his experience with the railroad, opportunities in railway
research here at Tech and throughout the country, and his work at ENSCO, Inc,
a leading company in track inspection technology in the US and on the
international level. This is a wonderful opportunity for students to have
a conversation with a young professional about anything they would like to
know about the railroad industry and research at Tech.
The event is at 5:30 pm,
Monday March 30th in Patton room 305. Pizza and drinks will be provided! Anyone
interested in joining AREMA should try to be at this meeting or email me
at mgking77@vt.edu. If you aren't interested
in joining, come anyway. It will be a short informative conversation, so the
more people that are there, the better it will be! Thanks, and I hope you see
you all there!
